Job summary

City College of San Francisco invites applications for the Dean of the School of Science, Technology, Engineering, & Mathematics (STEM). This on-site leadership role oversees multiple disciplines and drives academic integrity, program development, and budget stewardship.

The Dean reports to the Vice Chancellor and leads faculty, chairs, and staff to ensure student success, equity, and accreditation compliance across the STEM school. Start date is as soon as possible after appointment.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree required.
• Strong verbal and written communication.
• Proven leadership and strategic planning capabilities.
• Experience in organizational management and budgeting.
• Commitment to equity and student success.
• Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
• Familiarity with accreditation processes is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise faculty and staff.
• Experience in program development and assessment.

Responsibilities

• Provide educational leadership for STEM, guiding student learning and program development.
• Oversee scheduling, course offerings, and teaching assignments.
• Maintain knowledge of current ideas, research, and practices in STEM fields.
• Lead development of distance, hybrid, and in-person offerings and grant involvement.
• Monitor enrollment, faculty workload, and budget information to inform decisions.
• Address student concerns and coordinate resource allocation across departments.
• Supervise and evaluate department chairs, faculty coordinators, and staff.
• Support program accreditation efforts and strategic planning across the School.
• Foster inclusive practices and collaboration with College divisions.
