Job summary

Mesa Community College seeks an innovative and collaborative leader to serve as Dean of Math and Science. The Dean provides strategic leadership for the college's mathematics, science, and computer science disciplines, overseeing the Learning Enhancement Center to strengthen student learning and success across the college.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a teaching field related to math, natural science, physical science, life science, engineering, or closely related field and five years of leadership experience in higher education.
• Three years of teaching with curriculum development experience
• Strong commitment to shared governance, faculty engagement, and evidence-based planning

Responsibilities

• Lead academic programs, student support programs, and instructional initiatives in a shared governance environment
• Guide evidence-based decision-making aligned with college and district priorities
• Oversee faculty recruitment, development, evaluation, and curricular quality
• Ensure accreditation compliance and budget/resource stewardship
• Foster student access, persistence, completion, transfer, and workforce success
