Job summary

St. Mary's University seeks a dynamic Dean for the School of Science, Engineering and Technology. The Dean will provide strategic leadership for academic programs, enrollment, research, and operations within a Catholic Marianist context.

The role emphasizes collaboration with chairs, program directors, and external partners to expand research, partnerships, and support for faculty and students, while advancing inclusive excellence across STEM disciplines.

Qualifications

• Ability to articulate the University mission within a Catholic and Marianist context.
• Terminal degree from an accredited institution in a discipline represented within or closely related to the School.
• Experience as full-time, tenured faculty aligned with School programs.
• Strong record of teaching, scholarship, and service equivalent to a tenured faculty member.
• Experience as an academic administrator with supervisory, budgeting, and program support responsibilities.
• Ability to collaborate with chairs, directors, faculty, deans, and external partners.
• Experience with assessment, accreditation, program review, and strategic planning.
• Evidence of success in student learning, experiential education, and post-graduate outcomes.
• Commitment to external funding, research infrastructure, and community partnerships.
• Strong commitment to inclusive excellence and expanding access in STEM fields.

Responsibilities

• Champion interdisciplinary collaboration and advance regional and national reputation.
