Job summary

Missouri Connections Academy seeks a Dean of Student Retention and Engagement to lead strategies that improve attendance, persistence, and overall school connectedness. This 10-month role reports to the School Leader and works closely with families, teachers, counselors, and leadership to foster a positive virtual culture.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in K-12 leadership, a Missouri credential, and strong data-driven decision-making. Remote work capabilities and in-state travel are expected.

Qualifications

• Valid Missouri administrative, educational leadership, or applicable professional license.
• Residency in Missouri.
• 5+ years of experience in K-12 education, student services, or related leadership.
• Experience with virtual or blended learning environments preferred.
• Ability to work effectively in remote/virtual environments and travel in-state.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategies to improve attendance, engagement, and retention across grade levels.
• Identify at-risk students and coordinate timely, student-centered interventions.
• Collaborate with school leadership, teachers, counselors, and families to promote enrollment continuity.
• Monitor data on attendance and engagement to inform continuous improvement.
• Support schoolwide initiatives and professional development for retention efforts.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal requirements related to attendance and engagement.
