Job summary

Wake Technical Community College seeks a Dean of Nursing to provide strategic, academic, and administrative leadership for the Nursing Department and its programs. The Dean will align departmental goals with college priorities, supervise nursing leadership and faculty, and ensure regulatory and accreditation compliance while monitoring enrollment, licensure outcomes, and student success.

Demonstrated ability to lead in an academic setting.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Advanced skill in academic operations, scheduling, LMS leadership, and performance management.

Responsibilities

Leads and directs the Nursing Department and sets long-range goals aligned with Wake Tech and Health Sciences priorities.
Supervises the Nursing Program Director(s) and other nursing leadership positions.
Establishes clear expectations and accountability for nursing leadership and evaluates performance against standards.
Monitors overall nursing program performance including enrollment, retention, licensure outcomes, and student success.
Leads continuous quality improvement and ensures corrective plans when performance indicators fall short.
Ensures compliance with College policies, NC Board of Nursing requirements, accreditation standards, and regulatory expectations.
Oversees budget planning and resource allocation for the nursing program, in collaboration with leadership.
