Job summary

Savannah Technical College is seeking a Dean of General Studies to lead the General Studies Division, overseeing programs, faculty, and instructional services, including community, high school, dual enrollment, and college-level offerings.

The Dean will coordinate partnerships, manage the Curriculum Committee, and lead strategic initiatives to advance academic innovation, enrollment growth, workforce development, and student success while ensuring alignment with accreditation standards.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree from accredited college or university in a relevant field.
• Three years of full-time paid work experience within the past seven years in business, industry, education or military environments.
• Demonstrated project management and leadership skills.
• Three years of employment as a full-time instructor.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
• Must possess professional credentials for the field or position.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, management, and oversight for all General Studies programs, courses, faculty, and instructional services.
• Coordinate articulation agreements and academic partnerships with secondary schools, technical colleges, universities, and external stakeholders.
• Oversee Curriculum Committee and ensure proposals, modifications, and policies align with accreditation standards.
• Lead strategic initiatives related to academic innovation, enrollment growth, workforce development, and operational improvement.
• Collaborate with faculty and college leadership to advance the college’s strategic plan.
