Job summary

Savannah Technical College is seeking an Academic Dean for the General Studies Division. Under the supervision of the Vice President for Academic Affairs, this individual provides leadership, management, and oversight for all General Studies programs, courses, faculty, and instructional services, including community, high school, dual enrollment, and college-level offerings.

The Dean also supervises the student tutoring program.

Qualifications

Master's degree in English, Mathematics, Business Administration, Educational Leadership, or a closely related field.
At least three years of full-time paid work experience in business, industry, education or military environments within the past seven years.
Demonstrated project management and leadership skills.
Three years of employment must have been as a full-time instructor.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
Must possess and maintain professional credentials required for the field or position.

Responsibilities

Provide leadership, management, and oversight for all General Studies programs, courses, faculty, and instructional services.
Coordinate articulation agreements and academic partnerships to support student transfer and pathway opportunities.
Lead Curriculum Committee coordination to ensure alignment with accreditation standards and institutional goals.
Support strategic initiatives related to academic innovation, enrollment growth, workforce development, and student success.
