Job summary

Uncommon Schools is seeking a Dean of Curriculum & Instruction (DCI) to lead data-driven instruction and support teachers and instructional leaders across campuses. The DCI works with the Principal and network DCIs to ensure rigorous and joyful learning that yields strong academic gains.

Responsibilities include analyzing data, guiding assessment cycles, delivering high-quality professional development, coaching ILs, and shaping school culture and systems.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of teaching experience with evidence of outstanding student growth.
• Demonstrated instructional coaching capabilities that contribute to teacher growth and development.
• Strong content knowledge across multiple grades or content areas.

Responsibilities

• Lead data analysis meetings based on daily student work.
• Develop action plans and materials to address data and assessment cycles.
• Monitor progress against benchmarks at grade-level or content-area.
• Support regional data analysis and response systems.
• Provide real-time feedback to teachers during instruction.
• Deliver high-quality professional development for staff.
