Job summary

New River Community College in Dublin, Virginia seeks a Dean of Business and Technologies to provide academic and administrative leadership for the division, including faculty supervision, curriculum and schedule planning, budget management, and dual enrollment partnerships.

The successful candidate will advance student success, strengthen instructional quality, and ensure programs align with workforce needs; travel to off-campus sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
• Understanding of community college philosophy and student success initiatives.
• Effective leadership, problem-solving, and strategic planning skills.
• Knowledge of recruiting, selecting, evaluating, mentoring, and supervising faculty and staff.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, and the public.
• Administrative and supervisory experience.
• Knowledge of budgeting and strategic planning.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Mentoring, supervising, and evaluating faculty and adjunct staff within the division.
• Lead efforts to increase student retention, completion, and preparation for living-wage employment.
• Manage curriculum development and program offerings in the division.
• Oversee division budgeting, scheduling, and productivity planning.
• Develop and manage dual enrollment partnerships with local schools and districts.
• Provide leadership for assessment, program review, and accreditation activities.
