Job summary

North Carolina Central University in Durham seeks a Dean for the College of Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities to provide strategic leadership across a broad range of disciplines. Qualifications

• Ph.D. or equivalent with a current or previous tenured faculty appointment at the rank of full professor
• At least 6 years of experience as a Dean, Associate Dean, Department Chair, or Director
• At least 7 productive years of professorial experience
• Five years of experience developing academic programs, managing faculty, and/or demonstrated budgeting knowledge

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for a multidisciplinary academic unit.
• Oversee the College's academic programs, faculty and staff, and budget.
• Lead external engagement, partnerships, development, and fundraising to advance the college's visibility.
