Job summary

North Carolina Central University in Durham, NC seeks a Dean for the School of Library & Information Sciences. The Dean will set the strategic direction, oversee programs, and lead initiatives in enrollment, retention, and budget planning. This is a Full-Time, on-site, tenured-leading role reporting to Academic Affairs.

• Ph.D. from an accredited institution in Library or Information Science or related discipline
• Minimum of five years of progressively responsible administrative and leadership experience in higher education

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction for the School of Library and Information Sciences and set school-wide priorities.
• Lead fundraising, enrollment planning, retention strategies, and budget/resource allocations.
• Represent the school to the university, stakeholders, and professional organizations.
• Foster faculty development, collaboration, and inclusive excellence across programs and activities.
