Job summary

Rockland Community College, part of the SUNY system in New York, seeks a Dean of Assessment, Program Development and Academic Support to provide strategic leadership for academic assessment, curriculum development, program review, and support services.

The Dean ensures SUNY and NYSED compliance, drives continuous improvement, and partners with faculty and administrators to advance student success and institutional effectiveness.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree required in higher education or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of teaching experience at a 2- or 4-year institution.
• Demonstrated leadership and assessment experience.
• References: provide three professional references with names, phones and emails.
• Official transcripts may be requested; foreign transcripts need evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for institutional assessment and program review.
• Oversee development, revision, approval, and discontinuance of curricula and programs.
• Serve as liaison to Faculty Senate Curriculum Committee and other committees.
• Provide leadership for academic support services to promote student retention and completion.
• Develop, implement, and review academic policies and procedures.
• Coordinate SUNY/NYSED accreditation and other regulatory requirements.
• Liaise with SUNY, NYSED, and external agencies on curriculum matters.
• Oversee articulation agreements, transfer pathways, and partnerships.
• Identify opportunities for new academic programs and workforce initiatives.
• Support grant development, reporting, and assessment activities.
