Columbia-Greene Community College in Hudson, NY seeks an Assistant Dean of Teaching and Learning to provide operational leadership for faculty development, instructional quality, and academic support across the institution.

The role oversees faculty onboarding, tenure and promotion processes, online learning, and the holistic student support model, ensuring alignment with institutional goals. It requires collaboration with the CAO, HR, and governance bodies.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in higher education, curriculum and instruction, educational leadership, or closely related field.
• Teaching experience in a college setting.
• Progressive experience in faculty development, academic support, or academic administration.
• Experience working in a community college setting.
• At least 3–4 years of supervision experience.
• Experience with online learning platforms such as Brightspace (D2L).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills across faculty, staff, and governance bodies.
• Commitment to equity-focused teaching and student success frameworks.

Responsabilités

• Oversee Center of Innovation, Teaching, and Learning (CITL).
• Supervise the CITL Faculty Coordinator and advising staff.
• Align faculty development with the college’s strategic plan.
• Track participation and outcomes of professional development programs.
• Assess professional development activities for faculty.
• Stay current with higher education research on teaching and learning.
• Lead adoption of best practices, emerging technologies, and instructional initiatives
• Facilitate faculty onboarding for full-time and part-time faculty
• Manage faculty tenure and promotion in collaboration with CAO and HR
• Oversee online learning, including Brightspace training and course quality standards
• Lead initiatives to strengthen teaching effectiveness and inclusive pedagogy
• Implement holistic advising and coaching model
• Oversee holistic student support model
• Contribute to academic master plan
• Oversee academic appeals process and committee
• Oversee resolution of academically related student concerns
• Oversee academic integrity policy
• Participate in college committees
• Other duties as assigned
