Job summary

The Dean will oversee budgeting, faculty development, and cross-disciplinary initiatives, while promoting inclusive excellence and student success within the university community.

Qualifications

• PhD or terminal degree aligned with discipline or profession.
• Excellence in teaching, service and professional development.

• Minimum of five years of exemplary administrative experience in higher education.
• Exceptional written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with a positive attitude.
• Demonstrated ability to build external relationships to strengthen programming.
• Experience in budgeting and financial analysis; understanding of accounting principles.
• Proficiency in academic technology.
• Ability to collaborate across schools and disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Provides collaborative support to Chairs and faculty with transparent communication.
• Leads the School of Arts & Sciences in strategic planning for accreditation, curriculum development, enrollment, retention, and cost effectiveness; uses metrics to ensure quality.
• Manages budgets and fiscal resources for the School.
• Develops relationships with corporate and community partners for internships and grant opportunities in collaboration with relevant offices.
• Works with deans and faculty to promote interdisciplinary collaboration across core curriculum.
• Collaborates with Student Affairs to support services and faculty development for student belonging.
• Oversees program changes, curriculum integration, and university catalog alignment.
• Coordinates course schedules in collaboration with School Deans and Chairs.
• Advances academic technology to support curriculum integrity and program assessments.
• Participates in search committees and faculty hiring processes; coordinates resources for new faculty.
• Leads Deans Council meetings and communications among divisions and stakeholders.
• Mentors tenure-track faculty, supports promotion/tenure processes, and writes recommendations as needed.
