Job summary

SmartBank is seeking a Collateral Analyst in Birmingham, AL. You will research and approve debts and credits and ensure ACH/Wires documents comply with policy. This role supports Floor Plan Loan Operations and Dealer Management, requiring strong integrity and customer service.

A high school diploma and confidentiality are essential. Responsibilities include reviewing Floor Plan docs, onboarding dealers, and ensuring accurate payments and postings.

• Proficient in MS Office programs (Word/Excel/Outlook) and typing.

Responsibilities

• Floor Plan Operations & Dealer Support: serve as the contact for all matters relating to Loan Operations with Dealers and the Floor Plan Operations Manager.
• Review all Floor Plan documents for accuracy prior to onboarding new dealers.
• Ensure all required documents are collected and reviewed prior to ACH/Wiring payoffs.
• Assist Relationship Manager and Dealer in resolution of issues.
• Track dealer payoffs and report gaps and bunching to FPO Manager.
• Monitor and ensure dealer payments, curtailments, and interest charges are credited accurately.
• General Ledger & Payment Processing oversight: review GL for manufacture payments and place on dealer line of credit.

What You’ll Do

The Collateral Analyst is responsible for researching and approving debts and credits along with financial reporting to determine all documents involved in ACH / Wires procedures are in accordance with SmartBank’s and Floor Plan’s policy and procedures.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

• Upholds SmartBank Core Values and Core Purpose.

• Floor Plan Loan Operations & Dealer Support: Serving as the contact for all matters relating to Loan Operations in conjunction with the Dealer and Floor Plan Operations Manager.
• Review all Floor Plan documents for accuracy prior to on boarding new dealers.
• Ensure all required documents are collected and reviews prior to ACH / Wiring pay off to pay off finance source prior to on boarding new dealer.
• Assist RM and Dealer in resolution of all issues that arise.
• Track all dealer payoffs and report any gaps and bunching of payoffs to FPO Manager.
• Monitor and ensure all dealer payments, curtailments, and interest charges are credited accurately.
• General Ledger & Payment Processing Oversight: Daily review and clear FPO GL for manufacture request for payments and place on dealer’s Floor Plan line of credit.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements and Qualifications

• High School Degree or equivalent.
• Must be capable of handling confidential information in a trustworthy manner.
• Excellent customer service skills both in person and over the phone.
• Detail oriented and ability to function in a team environment.
• Must be able to prioritize and organize daily workflow.
• Ability to apply knowledge and sound judgment in decision-making using established guidelines.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Proficient level of computer competency including Microsoft Windows (Word, Excel, Outlook) and typing.
• Demonstrates ability to maintain a positive attitude.
• High level of integrity.
• Able to maintain regular and predictable attendance.
• Willing to accept new ideas and methods and be agreeable to change.

Work Conditions

• Able to sit for long periods of time.
• Frequent and regularly required movements using wrists, hand and/or fingers.
• Ability to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information.
• May be required to travel to training sessions or meetings.
• Extended hours will be required as needed.
