Helen Keller Services (HKS) is seeking a DeafBlind Rehabilitation Specialist to join the HKNC North Central Region in Minnesota. You will provide employment-focused vision rehabilitation, independent living training, and assistive technology services to DeafBlind youth and adults across Region 5, collaborating with partners to support individualized employment plans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in vision rehabilitation therapy or related field, plus 3–5 years of relevant experience.
• Current Certified Vision Rehabilitation Therapist (CVRT) certification is required and must be maintained in good standing throughout employment.
• Experience serving DeafBlind, blind, low vision, Deaf or hard of hearing individuals, including independent living and assistive technology services.
• Familiarity with DeafBlind access tools and technology including VP/VRS, screen readers, braille devices, and adaptive daily living tools.
• Strong professional communication, consultation, presentation, computer, and Microsoft Office skills.

Responsabilités

• Provide direct vocational rehabilitation, employment readiness, job development, job placement, job coaching, independent living, low vision, and assistive technology services.
• Deliver one-on-one and group services in home, community, work-site, training, or virtual settings.
• Collaborate with VR partners, Centers for Independent Living, schools, employers, DeafBlind projects, families, and other partners to support individualized employment plans.
• Develop and implement individualized training plans integrating employment goals, independent living skills, low vision strategies, adaptive techniques, and workplace accommodations.
