Job summary

Helen Keller Services seeks a DeafBlind Employment Specialist for the New England Region. This role focuses on delivering employment-focused services to consumers, both one-on-one and in groups, across New England, with travel as needed.

Responsibilities include coordinating with VR and related partners to create IPEs, providing training and outreach about HKNC programs, and supporting transition to home communities. A related degree with experience is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in vocational rehabilitation, special education or a closely related degree with 3–5 years of experience.
• Basic computer proficiency including File Maker Pro, Outlook, MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
• Preferred certification in employment services (ACRE and/or CESP).
• Familiarity with Vocational Rehabilitation and Blind Services agencies within the New England Region.
• Fluency in communication methods used by DeafBlind individuals, including ASL.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one and group-based, employment-focused direct services to consumers throughout the New England Region.
• Collaborate with local service providers and community partners to develop teams that implement Individualized Plans for Employment (IPEs).
• Provide outreach to educate Vocational Rehabilitation personnel about HKNC programs and services.
• Travel to consumer, partner, and training locations throughout the New England Region as needed.
