Job summary

Helen Keller Services in Minneapolis, MN is seeking a DeafBlind Rehabilitation Specialist to provide employment-focused vision rehabilitation and independent living training across North Central Region 5.

The role supports individuals who are DeafBlind or with combined vision and hearing loss, delivering low vision training, assistive technology, and community-based services to improve independence and employment opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in vision rehabilitation therapy or related field plus 3–5 years of relevant experience
• Current Certified Vision Rehabilitation Therapist (CVRT) certification is required and must be maintained
• Experience serving DeafBlind, blind, low vision, Deaf, hard of hearing, or combined vision and hearing loss with independent living and assistive technology

Responsibilities

• Provide vocational rehabilitation, employment readiness, job development, job placement, and coaching services across North Central Region 5
• Deliver one-on-one and group services in home, community, work-site, training, or virtual settings
• Collaborate with partners to support Individualized Plans for Employment and transition planning
• Train consumers in low vision devices, lighting, and accessible technology
• Maintain timely case notes and progress updates
