Job summary

Helen Keller Services in Tennessee is seeking a DeafBlind Employment Specialist to provide one-on-one and group employment-focused services, helping consumers achieve employment outcomes and independence.

The role collaborates with VR, CRPs, schools for the deaf and blind, and other partners to develop IPE plans. Requires a bachelor’s degree in vocational rehab or related field and 3–5 years of experience; strong computer skills required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in vocational rehabilitation, special education or closely related field with 3–5 years of experience.
• Basic computer proficiency including File Maker Pro, Outlook, MS Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one and group employment-focused, direct services to consumers in the designated state.
• Collaborate with local service providers and partners to develop an Individualized Plan for Employment (IPE).
• Provide outreach to educate VR personnel about DeafBlind capabilities and HKNC programs.
• Assist in coordinating with HKNC and VR to support transitions back to home communities after campus programs.

Education
