Job summary

SFUSD seeks a Special Education Paraeducator (S20D) to assist in delivering instruction to Deaf/Hard of Hearing students under an IEP/IFSP. The role involves lesson support, student supervision, assessment administration, record-keeping, and equipment management within multiple school sites.

The strongest candidates will have experience with IEP processes, collaboration across teams, and a flexible, proactive work style in a district environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of sign language systems and Deaf/Hard of Hearing needs.
• Ability to collaborate across multiple functions in a district.
• Adaptability to fast-paced school environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning lessons and preparing instructional materials for pupils receiving special education services.
• Supervise or tutor individuals or small groups according to IEP/IFSP.
• Administer tests, review work, maintain pupil records and assist in evaluations.
• Maintain records and assist with instructional equipment and supplies.
• Support classroom discipline and behavior management; supervise during field trips and activities.
• Assist with pupil personal care as required.
