Job summary

The San Francisco Unified School District seeks a dedicated part of the instructional team to support certificated staff and deaf/hearing-impaired students. Under supervision, you will translate between oral language and sign, assist with lesson plan implementation, and help proctor exams while maintaining records and using instructional software.

The employee assists certificated staff by: implementing lesson plans (activities which include reviewing and correcting the work of pupils), participating in parent conferences, proctoring examinations, keeping relevant records, operating instructional equipment and appropriate software in instructional settings, as well as performing related duties as required.

Under the supervision of a special education teacher/administrator, employee must work with a deaf/hearing-impaired population to perform translations from oral language to sign and from sign to oral language. Duties include assisting in the implementation of the curriculum by facilitating communication designed to serve the deaf/hearing impaired pupil population.
