Candor Consulting & Diagnostics in Irving, TX seeks a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing to empower deaf and hard-of-hearing students to achieve academic success and independence in inclusive settings. The role requires a Bachelor\'s in Deaf Education or related field (Master\'s preferred), Texas Educator Certification in DHH, and fluent ASL.

You will collaborate with IEP teams, deliver specialized instruction, monitor progress, and advocate for accessibility using FM systems and assistive

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or a related field is required; a master's degree is preferred but not required.
Texas Educator Certification in Deaf and Hard of Hearing is required; additional certifications are a plus but not mandatory.
Familiarity with IDEA and understanding of IEP processes are essential.
ASL fluency is required; bilingual skills preferred but not mandatory.
CPR certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with IEP teams to create and implement IEPs addressing communication and learning needs.
Deliver targeted instruction in language development, auditory skills, and social-emotional learning.
Collect and analyze data to track progress and adjust instruction to meet goals.
Work with general education teachers, speech-language pathologists, audiologists, and families.
Advocate for accommodations and assistive technologies to ensure equitable access.
Prepare students for life beyond school with self-advocacy and adaptive technologies.
Develop strategies to foster independence and self-confidence in school and community.
Address accessibility needs and teach safety skills.
