Job summary

Candor Consulting & Diagnostics in Irving, TX is seeking a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing to empower students and collaborate with IEP teams to create effective, inclusive learning plans. You will deliver focused instruction and monitor progress to support communication, literacy, and social-emotional growth.

Required are a Bachelor's in Deaf Education or Special Education, a Texas DHH certification, and ASL fluency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or related field required
• Master's degree in Education for Students with Hearing Impairments preferred but not required
• Texas Educator Certification in Deaf and Hard of Hearing required
• IDEA knowledge and IEP process understanding essential
• ASL fluency required; bilingual skills preferred

Responsibilities

• Develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) with IEP teams
• Deliver targeted instruction in language development and auditory skills
• Monitor student progress and adjust instructional approaches to meet IEP goals
• Collaborate with general education teachers, speech and language pathologists, audiologists, and families
• Advocate for accommodations and assistive technologies to ensure equitable access
• Prepare students for life after school with self-advocacy and adaptive skills
• Foster independence and safety in school, home, and community
