Job summary

Emerson is seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer - DCS Programming based in San Diego, CA. You will program, install, maintain, and upgrade software/hardware for COMNET-related networks and support the City of San Diego’s platforms for management and issue resolution.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in a technical field, 5+ years in Emerson Ovation DCS, PLC programming experience, customer-facing installation work, and willingness to travel up to 75%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or related technical field.
• 5+ years of experience programming Emerson Ovation DCS.
• Experience with programming PLCs.
• Experience engaging with customers for installation of control systems and loading software.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site instruction of customer personnel; write/modify maintenance procedures; conduct quality tests and product evaluations.
• Direct efforts of customer personnel during installation and routine modification/repair of control systems.
• Provide engineering advisory support to customer and internal stakeholders on equipment matters.
• Create complete and timely activity reports focusing on problems and service actions.
