Job summary

Flexential is seeking a VP of Construction to act as the on-ground strategic eye for project controls, cost tracking, and reporting across a portfolio of heavy industrial and data center builds. You will govern daily financial defense, validate changes, integrate schedules, and align reporting with executives.

The role requires leading cross-functional teams, enforcing MasterFormat/Uniformat standards, and defending contingency against erosion while driving proactive cost control and cash

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Finance, Civil/Mechanical Engineering, or Accounting.
• 5–8 years of experience in project controls, cost engineering, or construction accounting on heavy industrial or utility-scale commercial projects.
• 2–3 years on mission-critical or data center construction projects with heavy MEP cost awareness.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain project controls reporting frameworks and performance metrics for portfolio visibility.
• Maintain site sub-ledgers and daily cost-code accounting using MasterFormat/Uniformat standards.
• Review monthly progress billings and pay apps against on-site work verification.
• Log lien waivers; monitor OFE payments and cost separation for large repairs.
• Lead change management and verify quantities against baselines using local indexes.
• Develop and improve project controls reporting standards, dashboards, and KPI cadence.
