Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Principal Engineer, DC Power to design and develop innovative DC power distribution solutions for data center environments. Lead architecture, translate customer specs into technical requirements, and ensure compliance with industry standards and safety.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize efficiency, reliability, and scalability, evaluate new technologies, and guide projects from concept to deployment while upholding Vertiv's core principles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in power systems design, preferably in data center environments.
• Expert knowledge of DC power distribution systems and architectures.
• Strong understanding of power electronics and conversion technologies.
• Familiarity with IEEE, NFPA, UL, NEC standards.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent project management and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop DC power distribution architectures.
• Translate complex customer specifications into clear technical requirements and project objectives.
• Create technical layouts and presentations for customers as well as executive leadership.
• Analyze power requirements and optimize solutions for efficiency and reliability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on power infrastructure projects to promote One Vertiv solutions.
• Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies according to market research trends.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and industry regulations.
