Job summary

Vertiv in Pelzer, SC is seeking an Electrical Engineer to lead the analysis, design, and optimization of electrical power systems and infrastructure for data center environments, ensuring system reliability and continuous operation. You will design UPS/DC power systems, switchgear configurations, and grounding schemes while coordinating with vendors and field teams.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
PE license is optional.
Minimum 4 years of Electrical Engineering experience.
Experience with low voltage switchgear design, installation, and use.
Ability to read electrical construction drawings and equipment specifications.
Proficient with AutoCAD and Revit and Microsoft Office.
Strong communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

Lead Electrical Engineer on projects from pre-sales to commissioning.
Design UPS and DC power systems within budget and requirements.
Create switchgear configurations and control schemes for automated operations.
Develop grounding, protection, and fault schemes compliant with codes.
Review submittals and ensure technical accuracy and quality.
Collaborate with contractors, Architects, and vendors to produce construction docs.
Provide equipment sizing analysis for generators based on loads and inertia.
Coordinate with commissioning teams for testing and validation.
Support on-site integration and start-up activities.
Travel to sites for reviews and engineering support.
