Job summary

Morris Furniture Company, Inc. is seeking an Operations Supervisor to lead day-to-day Distribution Center operations, coordinating across departments to ensure safe, efficient and accurate movement of product.

You will coach associates, monitor performance, and uphold quality and inventory standards. Responsibilities include leading team huddles, training staff, conducting audits, and maintaining 5S standards while escalating issues with practical solutions to the Operations Manager.

• Proven ability to lead complex, multi-functional operations.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Comfortable navigating WMS, RF scanning tech, and basic reporting tools.
• Safety-first mindset with knowledge of OSHA regulations and powered equipment.
• Strong organizational skills with multiple priorities and shifting workloads.
• Clear, professional verbal and written communication for coaching and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day DC operations and ensure accurate movement of product.
• Coordinate workflow across departments and assign daily work to associates.
• Monitor productivity, throughput and quality; reallocate resources as needed.
• Lead daily team huddles to communicate priorities and safety topics.
• Coach, train, and cross-train associates; support onboarding.
• Conduct performance check-ins and provide real-time feedback on conduct and attendance.
• Perform quality control checks and daily audits to meet company standards.
• Enforce safety protocols and PPE; address unsafe conditions promptly.
• Maintain equipment care and daily inspections; manage inventory accuracy via cycle counts.
• Escalate issues to the Operations Manager with recommended solutions.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless end-to-end product flow.
