Morris Furniture Company, Inc. is hiring an Operations Manager to drive performance, efficiency, and profitability across the distribution center.

The role leads operations, validates inventory accuracy, and steers workforce development with a focus on safety and continuous improvement. You will partner across functions to optimize processes, manage staffing and budgets, and ensure a best-in-class experience for customers and showroom partners.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Business, Operations Management, or related field preferred.
• 3-5 years supervisory or managerial experience, including managing other leaders.
• 5+ years experience in a distribution center, warehouse, or manufacturing environment.
• Experience owning labor budgets, staffing plans, and performance metrics.
• Experience overseeing service metrics, operational KPIs, and cross-functional initiatives.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including overtime, weekends, holidays, and peak-season hours.

Responsibilities

• Operate across the DC, Customer service, and delivery as operation needs.
• Lead continuous improvement and change initiatives; spend ~80% of time on-site.
• Own P&L-level accountability for DC operations and lead multiple departments.
• Directly lead a team of Operations Supervisors and oversee a broad workforce across shifts.
• Build staffing plans, schedules, and labor budgets to align with volume and service levels.
• Oversee end-to-end product flow through the facility (inbound, put-away, prep, storage, outbound).
• Establish, monitor, and report KPIs such as staffing attainment, throughput, and inventory accuracy.
• Collaborate with Customer Care, Sales, Merchandising, and 3rd-party partners for best-in-class service.
• Drive SOPs and Lean/Six Sigma to reduce waste and variability.
• Resolve escalated orders, inventory, and customer service issues; analyze root causes.
• Manage inventory integrity through cycle counts and shrink control.
• Maintain facility safety culture with audits, PPE compliance, and equipment operation.
