Perform proper handling of incoming products to ensure accurate and available inventory. Follow all tasks according to best practice procedures.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Maintain safety standards while operating equipment, and identify unsafe practices and situations.
- Unload various types of merchandise from trailers, containers, and trucks.
- Match skid or box counts to the Proof of Delivery documentation, noting any discrepancies.
- Place skids in designated areas on or near the dock, remove packing lists, and document Vendor Compliance issues; remove parts when necessary and place them in the appropriate area.
- Receive products on assigned batches, stock products from vendors, process warehouse returns, transfers, and small package shipments such as UPS.
- Place products correctly in storage locations, from floor level up to 72 inches high manually or using powered equipment for higher racking.
- Research discrepancies, confirm corrections, and close batches to release products to inventory.
- Follow instructions to retrieve and replace products from reserve locations, using appropriate equipment.
- Assist in training team members, ensuring training is conducted per schedule and documentation is complete. Explain job duties and procedural changes to new and existing team members.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
SKILLS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Required:
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to complete and pass a company-standardized test
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Ability to read and match numerical and alphabetical characters quickly and accurately
Desired:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Experience in a warehouse environment, especially with alphanumeric or RF directed stocking
- Familiarity with automotive parts
- Advanced computer skills
- Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish highly preferred)
