Job description

Join to apply for the DC Materials Handler - Outbound role at O'Reilly Auto Parts.

Essential Job Functions

1. Locate and pull merchandise by matching item codes and numbers on the pick ticket against part number on the merchandise. Place merchandise in tote or stage bulk items in the appropriate area. When the order is completed, mark the tote by customer number and send down the conveyor.
2. Ensure all totes are labeled for the correct store and do not exceed 60 lbs.
3. Maintain DC standards for accuracy and productivity when picking orders.
4. Consolidate and pack stock order merchandise quickly and accurately for efficient customer check-in.
5. Itemize all products not shipped in totes on the freight bill upon receipt, ensuring correct routing and end-of-day totals, including hazardous materials.
6. Operate handheld computers (RF units) and/or voice picking equipment at WMS DCs.
7. Verify items off the freight bill during loading, matching the number and types of items loaded.
8. Load trucks quickly and accurately, securing freight properly.
9. Supply picking zones with totes and repair totes as needed.
10. Start printers, sort tickets and labels by zone.
11. Operate equipment for outbound functions.
12. Maintain a clean and organized work area, disposing of cardboard and trash properly.
13. Train new team members as designated, ensuring proper training and documentation.
14. Follow safety standards and report unsafe practices.
15. Perform any other duties as assigned.

Skills/Education/Experience

Required:

• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
• Ability to read and match numbers and letters quickly and accurately
• Strong mathematical skills

Desired:

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Previous warehouse experience
• Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish highly desired)
