Job summary

Vestis is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor for its Salem, VA Distribution Center. The role oversees maintenance on all machinery, leads maintenance technicians, and ensures safe, efficient operation while documenting work and generating reports.

Responsibilities include coordinating with sub-contractors, staffing, scheduling, and upholding safety and asset integrity. The ideal candidate has maintenance experience and 1–2 years of leadership, with strong communication and multitasking abilities.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a maintenance environment or related field.
• 1–2 years leadership experience preferred.
• Able to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Sit, stand, walk, and climb stairs 8–10 hrs daily.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to instruct/teach.
• Complete work in a timely manner and meet deadlines.
• Able to multi-task with strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all equipment and facilities.
• Schedule and manage sub-contractors and outside maintenance.
• Manage department employees to include policy adherence, training, coaching and mentoring.
• Ensure appropriate staffing levels; conduct evaluations and maintain records; recommend hiring and disciplinary action of employees as necessary.
• Plan and coordinate daily activities of department; adjust work assignments and workflow as necessary.
• Source and order supplies.
• Manage safety compliance and security of building.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
