Job summary

BARNES & NOBLE BOOKSELLERS, INC. in Monroe, NJ is hiring an Inventory Operations Analyst to ensure efficient handling of DC product, resolve issues, and support fast shipments to stores and ecommerce customers. The role partners with vendors and merchandising to drive compliant, timely launches and cost-effective distribution.

The position focuses on optimizing DC processes, inventory health, and cross-functional collaboration to improve speed and accuracy in distribution operations.

Qualifications

• Knowledge and understanding of the retail supply chain.
• Publishing or book selling experience.
• Strong communication and analytical skills.
• Familiarity with social media and third-party sales outlets.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access).

Responsibilities

• Oversees special order management workload, including new releases and events, and manages DC-to-Store order allocations.
• Analyzes data to solve issues related to inventory receiving QC results and bottlenecks.
• Organizes projects for merchandise remediation, price ticketing, and stock balancing.
• Partners with vendors to address operational non-compliance and drive vendor behavior to compliance.
• Collaborates with Merchandising teams to plan launches of top priority items and new product types.
• Creates reports, process maps, and visualizations to illustrate issues and opportunities for efficiency.
• Resolves escalations related to DC inventory and shipments.
• Improves receiving/shipping efficiencies and develops tools for action in peak volumes.
