Job summary

Shepherd Electric Supply is seeking a Fleet Manager to align shipping, receiving, inventory, and fleet operations at the Laurel Distribution Center. You will lead a 20-person shipping team, monitor KPIs, and drive process improvements to keep high-volume operations achieving on-time, accurate outbound performance.

Your role emphasizes floor presence, accountability, and cross-functional coordination with branches, purchasing, and sales to prevent delays and gaps.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain, business administration, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered
• 5+ years in warehouse or distribution ops with management responsibility
• Experience coordinating shipping, receiving, inventory, and transportation in high-volume environment
• Strong knowledge of inventory control, order fulfillment, carrier coordination, and fleet management
• Proficiency with WMS, inventory software, Excel, Outlook
• Forklift, pallet jack, reach truck certification or ability to obtain onsite
• Analytical and KPI-driven problem solving
• Strong verbal and written communication across departments

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a 20-person shipping team and shift leads

• Ensure on-time, accurate outbound shipments and documentation
