Job summary

The Container Store in the Dallas/ Fort Worth area is seeking a seasoned Facilities and Safety Manager to lead maintenance and safety programs in our Distribution Center. You will oversee building systems, equipment, and automation, coordinate with risk, engineering and operations, and manage budgets.

The ideal candidate has extensive DC facilities experience, CMMS proficiency, and the ability to read MEP drawings, travel up to 25%, and drive improvements while upholding our safety standards.

Qualifications

• College degree or comparable experience required with emphasis in Safety or a technical STEM field.
• Experience in Safety Training and Management or Facilities Development and Management: 10 years preferred
• Experience in a Distribution Center safety and facilities management capacity: 3 years preferred
• CMMS knowledge to plan and manage maintenance team
• Ability to read MEP drawings and schematics
• Based in Dallas/Ft. Worth area
• Ability to travel 25% per year
• Ability to work in a safety-conscious environment
• Flexible with hours and teamwork

Responsibilities

• Facilities management including building construction, grounds and equipment maintenance
• Oversee automation and DC operations to maximize distribution efficiency
• Lead facilities team through assignments, communication and coaching
• Coordinate safety initiatives with Risk Management, Engineering and Operations
• Manage labor and capital budgets for the department
• Ensure compliance with NEC, OSHA and local codes and regulations
• Respond to emergency calls for the Distribution Center
• Lead daily maintenance operations in the DC
• Maintain building cleanliness and recycling programs
• Serve as vendor point of contact and support repairs
• Operate computer-controlled building and conveyor systems
