Job summary

The Michaels Companies in New Lenox is seeking a Department Manager for the DC to lead a team through safety, accuracy, production and inventory control. You will provide direction, coach staff, and coordinate with leadership to meet daily objectives.

You will establish plans, ensure standard operating procedures are followed, address issues promptly, and support the growth and development of direct reports while balancing on-the-floor presence with office time.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Strong leadership and supervisory skills
• Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and some holidays

Responsibilities

• Establish and execute plans to meet operational objectives in the DC
• Ensure adherence to SOPs and regulatory guidelines for safety and accuracy
• Provide direction and coaching to team members and partner with HR for performance management
• Identify and resolve production or communication issues impacting operations
• Lead onboarding, training, and development of direct reports and balance on-floor presence with office time
