Job summary

Michaels Distribution Center in New Lenox is seeking a Department Manager to lead and develop a team in safety, accuracy, production, and inventory control, guiding operations to meet objectives and maintain compliance.

You will coach team members, schedule shifts, collaborate with Loss Prevention, and drive continuous improvement using WMS and LMS systems, with flexibility across all shifts including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates strong leadership and management skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and WMS/LMS systems.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to work a flexible schedule including all days and shifts.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the distribution center team to meet safety, accuracy, production and inventory goals.
• Provide work direction and timely information to team members and leadership.
• Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures and regulatory compliance.
• Coach, onboard, and train team members; manage performance and conduct issues.
• Coordinate with Loss Prevention and leadership to address safety concerns.
• Balance on-the-floor presence with office time; participate in special projects.
