Position Purpose
The DC Area Supervisor leads an hourly team and influences the entire distribution team to ensure the efficient, safe, and productive operation of the distribution center. Responsibilities include managing team members, ensuring accurate merchandise handling, developing team goals, and overseeing hiring, evaluation, discipline, and termination of 20 to 30 hourly associates.

Key Responsibilities

1. Managing Process (45%): Ensures operational procedures are followed, recommends process improvements, and evaluates work methods for efficiency.
2. Coaching and Developing Associates (25%): Guides daily operations, trains, coaches, evaluates performance, and handles associate relations and disciplinary actions.
3. Drives Results (15%): Maintains inventory accuracy, reviews reports, and improves productivity, accuracy, quality, and expenses.
4. Business Planning (15%): Coordinates operations to meet performance targets, reviews reports, and plans staffing needs.
5. Additional Responsibilities: Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Management and Travel

• Typically reports to the Operations Manager.
• Supervises 20-30 associates, including hiring, performance reviews, and professional development.
• Overnight travel less than 10%.

Physical and Working Conditions

• Requires physical activity such as walking, standing, lifting, and climbing.
• Located indoors with infrequent unpleasant conditions.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be 18 or older, authorized to work in the US, flexible with shifts, and able to relocate.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree, proficiency in Microsoft Office, experience with Warehouse Management Systems, and 3+ years supervisory experience.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or GED; 2 years of work experience.
