Job summary

Cleveland Clinic is seeking a Surgical Technologist for the Park West Ambulatory Surgery Center to support ophthalmic procedures and pain management services. The role involves setting up sterile tables, assisting in the surgical team, and ensuring aseptic conditions.

Hours are days only, with no nights, weekends, holidays or on-call requirements, in a fast-paced ambulatory setting. Minimum qualifications include completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program or military equivalent, and

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Surgical Technology Program accredited through CAAHEP or ABHES
• OR completion of military surgical technology program meets educational requirements
• Certification CST or TS-C required for candidates who have not completed an accredited program
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required by AHA or Red Cross

Responsibilities

• Set up sterile table and ensure supplies, drugs and equipment are available
• Assist RN in counting sponges, instruments and materials during surgery
• Assist in gowning, gloving and draping of surgical team members and patients
• Maintain aseptic conditions throughout the procedure
• Participate in intraoperative timeout safely
• Handle specimens and coordinate disposition with circulator
• Coordinate surgical and clinical schedules for ambulatory settings
• Assist with outpatient clinic flow and patient information
• Scribe for provider in outpatient clinic as needed
• Orient new hires and participate in unit committees
• Support marketing and practice development and study coordination
