Job summary

Plantation Surgery Center is seeking a Surgical Technologist to join a brand-new ambulatory surgery center in Plantation, FL. You will work under physicians or RNs, preparing instruments, setting up sterile equipment, and assisting in all phases of surgery.

Qualifications include graduation from an accredited surgical technologist program and CPR certification with 0–2 years of related experience. No weekends or holidays in this role.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program.
• Must be CPR certified with 0-2 years of clinical experience in a related field.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and maintains medical equipment for surgical procedures.
• Set up surgical instruments, sterile drapes, and sterile solutions before operations.
• Tends to patient during pre-operation procedures following hospital regulations.
• Prepare patient skin, body, and medical equipment for surgery.
• Assemble sterile and non-sterile equipment and ensure proper function.
• Prepare patients for surgery by cleansing and disinfecting incision sites.
• Transport and position patients in the operating room and apply sterile drapes.
• Monitor vitals, assist in gowning/gloving the team, and hand instruments to surgeons.
• Assist with retractors, sutures, sponges, lab specimen handling, and dressing applications.
• Operate sterilizers, lights, suction, and diagnostic equipment as needed.
• Assist in post-operation transfer to recovery and restocking of OR.
