Job summary

ReNEW Schools is seeking an experienced kitchen team member to lead meal preparation and daily service in a school cafeteria. You will ensure portions match production records and recipes, assist with serving line setup, and maintain accurate daily production records for breakfast, lunch, and snacks.

You will also ensure compliance with federal/state regulations, accommodate students with special diets, train new staff, and operate kitchen equipment and POS terminals while following HACCP

Qualifications

• Must attend employer-provided food safety training.
• Experience in public school kitchen or similar.

Responsibilities

• Direct and participate in meal preparation and daily meal service.
• Adhere to production records and recipes for correct portions.
• Assist with set up of serving lines and daily records.
• Ensure compliance with all federal/state regulations.
• Support students with special diet accommodations.
• Train new staff and monitor performance.
• Operate kitchen equipment and POS terminals.
• Follow HACCP guidelines and USDA/local standards.
• Wash, sanitize, and store equipment; inspect deliveries.
• Promote and support school meal programs; maintain a pleasant environment.
• Handle multiple food allergens and meat products; manage weekly orders.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
