Job summary

Millard Public Schools’ KIEWIT MIDDLE SCHOOL in Omaha, Nebraska, seeks a dedicated Day Custodian for a 6:00am–2:30pm, Monday to Friday schedule. This full-time, 12-month role supports student safety and clean learning environments, performing routine cleaning, trash removal, light maintenance, and snow removal as needed.

Requires a high school diploma or equivalent, basic cleaning knowledge, the ability to operate cleaning equipment, and reliable teamwork.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
• Basic cleaning methods, materials and equipment.
• Ability to organize and follow instructions.
• Computer proficiency and effective communication.
• Manual tasks requiring moderate physical strength.
• Operate mechanical cleaning equipment.
• Ability to work with supervision, staff, students, and public.
• Willingness to overtime and training.

Responsibilities

• General cleaning duties across classrooms, restrooms, halls, offices, and common areas.
• Snow removal and grounds cleaning.
• Maintain supplies within budget and complete reports such as PMs and inspections.
• Input of Maximo work orders and service requests.
• Operate cleaning equipment and perform floor care tasks.
• Support lunch program and student activity areas.
• Maintain neat appearance and comply with safety requirements.
