Job summary

Gretna East High School in Omaha, Nebraska is seeking a full-time Day Custodian (6:00am-2:30pm during the school year) to maintain facilities and support events. The role carries full family health insurance paid by the district and may require occasional building coverage during absences.

Educational requirements include a high school diploma or GED with custodial/maintenance experience preferred. Reports to the Facilities Coordinator and requires a valid driver’s license and clean driving

Qualifications

• High school degree or GED; Custodial and maintenance experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Service, clean, and supply restrooms.
• Gather and empty trash.
• Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them.
• Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage.
• Mix water and detergents or acids to prepare cleaning solutions.
• Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors.
• Notify supervisors concerning major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
• Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using cleaners.
