Job summary

Gretna East High School in Omaha, Nebraska, is seeking a full-time Day Custodian (6:00am-2:30pm) for the school year. This position emphasizes maintenance alongside custodial duties and may require substituting at other buildings as needed during absences.

Qualifications

• Prior custodial and maintenance experience preferred.
• Must maintain an unrestricted driver’s license and driving record.

Responsibilities

• Service, clean, and supply restrooms.
• Gather and empty trash.
• Clean floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming.
• Follow procedures for chemical cleaners and power equipment to protect floors and fixtures.
• Mix water and detergents per specifications.
• Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors.
• Notify supervisors about major repairs to building systems.
• Clean windows, glass, and mirrors.
• Steam-clean or shampoo carpets.
• Prepare facilities for events such as banquets, meetings, assemblies, and plays.
