Job summary

Millard Public Schools is seeking a full-time 12-month custodian to maintain safe, clean facilities for students and staff in Omaha. The role includes lamp replacement, operating cleaning equipment, trash removal, and snow removal, with a requirement for good interpersonal relations and ability to work with various stake- holders.

Key responsibilities cover floor care, restroom maintenance, and reporting maintenance needs, with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; housekeeping courses preferred.
• Experience as a school custodian is desirable.
• Basic knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment.
• Ability to perform manual tasks requiring moderate physical strength.
• Ability to operate mechanical cleaning equipment.
• Ability to follow simple oral and written instructions.
• Ability to establish amiable relations with staff, students, and public.
• Ability to work overtime when needed.
• Ability to complete required training and use products/equipment properly.
• Ability to work from a ladder and scaffolding; wear PPE and maintain neat appearance.

Responsibilities

• Floorcare including mopping, vacuuming, scrubbing, waxing, and shampooing floors.
• Trash pickup, restroom cleaning, dusting, and restocking supplies.
• Replace defective bulbs, clean grills, and report maintenance needs.
• Trash removal from grounds, watering turf, sweeping sidewalks, and snow removal.
