Job summary

The Christina School District is seeking a Day Custodian at Gallaher (Robert S.) Elementary School in Newark, Delaware. The role runs 10 AM - 6 PM and reports to the Facilities Manager and/or the building principal or designee.

Starting date is to be determined, with salary commensurate with experience effective Nov 2025. This position requires cleaning, maintenance, and cafeteria area duties, including lifting up to 50 lbs, following written/verbal instructions, and wearing appropriate work

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. with assistance.
• Ability to apply written or verbal instructions.
• Must wear clothing appropriate to the work performed.

Responsibilities

• Clean floors, walls, blinds, furniture, lavatories, locker rooms and fixtures.
• Maintain and perform minor repairs of furniture and move furniture as needed.
• Perform cafeteria area duties: clean floors, remove hood filters, vacuum motors, clean grease traps, stock storage areas, empty trash, mop spills during lunch periods.
• Perform minor maintenance repairs to building facilities.
• Other related duties as assigned.
