Job summary

Newark Board of Education seeks a Senior Custodian Day at various Newark locations, including McKinley Elementary School and Technology High School. The role supervises custodial staff, plans work, and ensures cleaning and maintenance of school facilities.

Qualifications include a high school diploma, two years in maintenance with supervisory experience, and a valid Black Seal Boiler Operator license. Provisional appointment with Civil Service exam will apply.

Qualifications

• High School or Vocational School diploma or equivalent.
• Two years in cleaning, maintenance, and grounds with one year supervisory experience.
• Current Black Seal Boiler Operator License (high or low pressure) required.
• Driver's license valid in New Jersey if vehicle operation is needed.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and plan cleaning work and needed materials.
• Supervise custodial staff and develop work plans.
• Oversee cleaning and maintenance of buildings and grounds.
• Lead in cleaning desks, furnishings, floors, and surfaces.
• Operate heating and ventilating equipment and supervise elevator operator if needed.
