Job summary

HRsmart is seeking a Therapeutic Assistant (PRN) to provide direct care in a residential setting under counseling staff direction. The role includes helping clients with daily activities, supporting recovery goals, and performing light duties like meal prep and cleaning to maintain a safe environment.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, ability to pass background and drug screening, and a valid driver’s license with CPR/First Aid eligibility.

Qualifications

• Experience in addictions and mental health or willingness to learn.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Must be able to climb stairs multiple times a day.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Must pass background and substance abuse testing.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain CPR/First Aid Certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients per directives of counselors and transport as needed; help with housekeeping and meal prep; support treatment plan through social interaction.
• May perform clerical tasks such as scanning documents into EMR.
• Attend mandatory trainings to comply with regulatory requirements.
• Assist residents in self-management activities and life skills development.
• Monitor residents’ activity for safety and welfare; chaperone as needed.
• Collaborate with treatment team to ensure completion of the treatment plan.
• Review and complete resident support documentation per Lifeways/OAR requirements.
• Assist in secure transport of residents to required appointments.
• Assist with meal preparation and facility cleanup.
• Supervise medication under nursing guidance; adhere to HIPAA and regulations.
