Job summary

Shields Health is hiring a Surgical Technologist for per diem coverage in the Massachusetts area. The role focuses on ensuring the sterility of the OR, preparing instruments, and supporting the surgeon throughout procedures.

Ideal candidates will have CST certification within a year of program completion and at least one year of surgical tech experience, preferably in ambulatory or outpatient settings. Per diem schedule allows weekday daytime shifts with free onsite parking.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited surgical technician program or equivalent is required.
• Certification (CST) required within 1 year of program completion.
• Minimum one year of surgical technician experience preferred; ambulatory/outpatient settings helpful.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and set up the operating room and sterile field for procedures.
• Assist surgeon by passing instruments and supplies during the procedure.
• Verify instrument counts and ensure proper handling and decontamination of equipment.
