Job summary

Qualifications

• High School graduate with completion of a phlebotomy program or equivalent training.
• Experience in phlebotomy or training program preferred.
• Fluent English, ability to read/write/speak clearly.

Responsibilities

• Performs blood draws by venipuncture following protocol.
• Ensures proper tube types, labeling, and patient identification.
• Records data in information systems per policy.
• Releases ambulatory orders and receives specimens in LIS/HIS.
• Interprets orders from providers and ensures correct specimen handling.
• Provides patient and staff instructions for specimen collection.
• Assists nursing staff and provides coverage at alternate locations as needed.
• Maintains inventory and adheres to safety and quality standards.
